Key Settlement Details
The $500 million Loblaw/Weston national class actions settlement for their involvement in nationwide class action lawsuits related to alleged industry-wide price fixing of Packaged Bread (including pre-packaged bread and other bread alternatives) sold in Canada in the period 2001 to 2021, inclusive, has been approved by the Courts in Ontario and Quebec.
THE CLAIMS PROCESS IS NOW CLOSED for persons resident in Canada who purchased Packaged Bread for their personal use in the period 2001 to 2021, inclusive, to submit their claim for compensation. Claims for compensation must have been submitted by the claim filing deadline of December 12, 2025.
The amount of compensation an approved claimant will receive will depend on the net settlement funds available to distribute, the number of Claims that are approved by the Settlement Administrator, and whether or not an approved claimant previously received a $25 Loblaw card from the Loblaw Card Program.
Settlement funds allocated for the benefit of businesses or entities in Canada that purchased Packaged Bread for resale in the period 2001 to 2021, inclusive, are being held in Trust at this time and will be distributed as the Courts direct at a later date.

If you resided anywhere in Canada except Quebec on December 31, 2021, your Claim for compensation on this website must have been sent before December 12, 2025. Proof of purchase is not required.

Do Nothing
If you did not submit a Claim for compensation for Packaged Bread purchased for personal use in the period 2001 to 2021, inclusive, before December 12, 2025, you will not receive compensation under this settlement.

Claim Filing Deadline
Claims for compensation for Packaged Bread purchased for personal use in the period 2001 to 2021, inclusive, must have been submitted by the claim filing deadline of December 12, 2025. Claims will not be accepted after December 12, 2025.
Distribution Process
Accurate claims processing takes time. It is typical for compensation payments to be sent 6 to 12 months after the claim filing deadline. Your patience is appreciated.

An on-line* Claims Process was available on this website from September 11, 2025 to December 12, 2025 for eligible residents anywhere in Canada outside of Quebec on December 31, 2021 who purchased Packaged Bread for their personal use between 2001 to 2021, inclusive, to submit Claims for compensation. Late Claims will not be accepted.
Persons under the age of 18 years, estates, persons who opted out of the class actions, and the officers and directors of the Loblaw/Weston group of companies will not be eligible to submit a Claim in the Claims Process.
Claimants will need to supply information identifying themselves and confirming their eligibility. No proof of purchase is needed to file a Claim.
The Settlement Administrator will determine a claimant’s eligibility and the compensation payable if the Claim is approved based on the information submitted with the Claim and the terms of the Distribution Protocol.
Compensation for approved Claims will be distributed by the Settlement Administrator after the completion of claims processing.
Yes, you could submit a Claim for compensation under the settlement even if you participated in the Loblaw Card Program. You will, however, only be entitled to the amount by which the additional settlement compensation exceeds the $25 Loblaw Card benefit previously received and only if that additional settlement compensation amount is $5 or more.
The definition of the Loblaw/Weston settlement class for the Ontario class action is: All Persons resident anywhere in Canada except Quebec on December 31, 2021, other than Excluded Persons (defendants and related parties), who between January 1, 2001 and December 31, 2021, inclusive, purchased Packaged Bread, either directly or indirectly that was, produced or distributed by a defendant.
